This place again…. the creepy trailer is gone, but this friend is still standing.
Another favorite from Christopher Herwig’s Soviet Bus Stop book.
So into Christopher Herwig’s book on Soviet Bus Stops. Vera Kavalkova-Halvarsson’s essay describes how from the late 1960s to the 1980s there was so much competition between architects for important projects, and technology and resources was so tightly regulated, that there was very little room for creativity – Because of this “minor architectural forms” took to the stage. Architectural students were assigned bus stops for their first independent project and encouraged to produce "designs never seen before" – without being limited by the usual rules and prohibitions.
Line on a plane in space.
