Rainy morning feels like the ultimate desert gift. Particularly after that seemingly endless heat streak this summer. So good to be home.
Third tiny tortoise sighting this week – this one is right next to the house. Think they are newborns? How far do they travel from where the eggs were laid? @kellyherbinson
Another view of Planar Configuration at Andrea Rosen Gallery this month
The Parallel Planar Configuration are installed at both Andrea Rosen Gallery, and in the Wonder Valley cabins. In the gallery they exist as formal abstract sculptures and in the cabins they serve as platforms for living. For more info on how to spend time with them in the desert email email@example.com
Beautiful crystal disco ball from @irlyon – new favorite thing in my Brooklyn apartment (thank you!)
Saying goodbye to this place for a few weeks – come see its counterpart at Andrea Rosen Gallery – one week from today
Feels kinda crazy to order 2 cords of firewood when it's still well over 100 degrees – but got my winter supply delivered in the nick of time before the September rate hike kicked in. Wood stoves are the only source of heat here, and some years the desert can be shockingly cold.
My animals are all so pleased that I've stopped messing around with experimental furniture prototypes and have started to make cat and dog beds.
Early nights… Early mornings.
