| High Desert
Test Sites is a series of experimental art sites located
along a stretch of desert communities including Pioneer
town, Yucca Valley, Joshua tree and 29 Palms. These locations
provide alternative, free space for experimental work by
both emerging and established artists.
The HDTS mission is to challenge traditional
conventions of ownership, property and patronage. Most projects
will ultimately belong to no one, and they are intended
to melt back into the landscape as new ones emerge.
HDTS
07 is scheduled for May 12-13 (A
map to ongoing projects will soon be available soon at the
official HDTS site.)
We are always in need of volunteers to help prepare sites,
remove/restore vandalized works, or assist artists on a
one on one basis. If you are available the week before the
event and want to help out please contact Maude at office@zittel.org.
The
High Desert Test Sites is a project organized by Andrea
Zittel, Shaun Regen, John Connelly, Andy Stillpass and Lisa
Anne Auerbach. |
