June 10, 2014 when it all started. Sheila Shanti had been weaving my artworks without a break for three years from her studio in Portland Maine (and later Seattle) when she finally sent a letter saying that she was ready to retire… offering to sell me her two AVL looms + equipment + lessons for everyone in my studio. We had been using this part of my studio to homeschool Emmett but he was getting ready to transition into public school so we actually had the space too. It's been a crazy ride ever since. (and thanks to Craig's list and a growing loom obsession we've expanded from two looms to six, compounding the complicates as we go along!)
