Another A-Z West Studio weaving – I'm so into these weird tufted pieces by @lourolf ! ⠀
Spent all week getting the truck ready (new awning, steam-cleaned the carpeted bed-liner, washed everything inside and out, new wipers) and now we are finally on the road getting it dusty and dirty all over again 🖤.
Hot, dry, dusty – but deeply enjoying the supreme solitude with everything here closed down for the summer. Having much needed alone time pretty much outweighs any of the negatives.
A new batch of A-Z West studio weavings are headed to the Whitney Museum shop including this one by @elenadaojingyu . The studio weavings help support our collective resources at A-Z West and generate income for artists local to the High Desert, where employment and means of financial support are limited.⠀⠀
Repost of an image by @machine_in_hand showing progress on her summer winter pattern here in the weaving studio this week – I'm such a fan of this large scale block pattern!
Another ridiculous sunset – but when it's a humid 104 all day it's hard to stay inside when the sun finally takes a break.
Planar Configuration #2, #3 and #4 – at Regen Projects in Los Angeles until August 12.
Said goodbye to @simonsixou and @iris.lacoudre today – the last of our work trade residents for the season. Simon and Iris were all-around-great – and very good natured about the high temperatures these last few weeks. (work trade apartments don't have AC ) Best of all they designed and built much needed covers for the compost bin. The covers should help cut down on rodent population which will in turn help with rattlesnake situation.
Super stoked to have @machine_in_hand back in the weaving studio this week!
