Hanging out with James Trainor, talking about climate change and where we are all going to live in 30 years. Guess my part of the desert isn't at the top of that list?

Oh wow, just finished reading Kip’s latest selection “Burro Bill and Me” for the HDTS desert book club. Was expecting a standard settler’s memoir, but this book was super intense and even harrowing at times… in a great way. Also there was a personally relevant subtext throughout Edna’s story that describes the various ways that they slowly departed with all of their material possessions and in exchange accumulated freedom, resilience and self sufficiency. Book club meets next Monday at Copper Mountain Community Center in North Joshua Tree. Kip says you don’t have to read the book – but it’s a winner, and you still have a few days to take it all in! #highdeserttestsites #hdts

My only problem with visiting New York is that I love my apartment so much that I never want to leave it! 4:30 pm and still cocooning in my pjs.
